Occupational Therapy Australia

“As an Occupational Therapist, I love working with people and helping them overcome barriers so they can do what they need, and want, to do in life. I joined the team at MLEA because their high standards inspire me to keep bettering myself. Everyone is so supportive here, and I feel very lucky to be part of a wonderful team.”

Lydia has special interests in human behaviour, cognitive health, and neurological conditions. She completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and sociology to understand human behaviours from both micro and macro perspectives. She went on to complete master studies in occupational therapy before working with older persons who experience severe and complex mental, physical, and cognitive health problems at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Lydia also has experience working with vulnerable adults with severe mental and physical health problems such as those with a history of significant and complex psychological trauma. Other than her role at MLEA, Lydia also maintains a clinical caseload as a Senior Occupational Therapist with the Queensland Eating Disorder Service, providing specialist services at their day program and specialist consultation clinic.
