Education for OT Students

MLEA provides education tailored to your needs as an undergraduate OT

At MLEA, education is one of the cornerstones of our practice. We are dedicated to supporting ongoing personal and professional development for not only our own OT staff but all experienced and aspiring OTs in practice. We know that Occupational Therapy is a complex and diverse role. We know there is always capacity for innovation and improvement in our service delivery. We know that as allied health practitioners, we work better when knowledge and perspectives are shared... MLEA would like to invite you to participate in a peer learning program during your upcoming or current clinical placement.

We are driven by the goal of empowering all OTs with the clinical, professional and personal knowledge required to achieve better outcomes for their service and clinical related care.

What does the Program involve?

The program is FREE and participation is voluntary. This is a great opportunity for you to meet peers at the same level as you on your OT journey, ask any "silly" clinical questions you may have been wondering about and connect with industry professionals!

Topics will be most appropriate for final year students on clinical placements working within community settings with adult clients, especially those working with NDIS participants.

It will involve online peer learning sessions once a week for 6 weeks; sessions will run on Tuesday mornings from 8.30am for approximately 1.5 hours. Sessions will be recorded and distributed to those that are interested but unable to attend the live sessions.

Sessions will be facilitated by a senior Occupational Therapist with clinical education experience and will include case studies and clinical reasoning discussions on a number of topics.
The final 30 minutes of the session will be an opportunity for students to ask questions and share experiences with their peers (NB this section will NOT be recorded to encourage active participation).
