Mia Martin

Mia commenced her Occupational Therapy career working within the Worker’s Compensation scheme throughout the statutory phase across various states including Qld, WA, and NSW; and managed referrals from the Transport Accident Commission (VIC). In her role as a Rehabilitation Consultant, Mia gained valuable experience creating suitable duties plans, performing worksite assessments, coordinating medical case conferences, performing pre-employment functional assessments, and administering vocational assessments and job-seeking assistance.

Subsequently, Mia progressed to work at The Wesley Hospital and St. Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital located in Brisbane and delivered a range of clinical services across a range of practice areas including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation; acute neurology, respiratory, and intensive care; and palliative care. Within this role, she was also fortunate to work alongside a range of other allied health, and medical professionals.

Currently, Mia works as a Medicolegal Occupational Therapist at MLEA, where she specialises in performing critical and objective assessments, and writing reports for personal injury claims; as well as claims which involve medical negligence, institutionalised abuse, and dust diseases. Mia feels fortunate to perform a role which allows her to contribute to achieving fair and equitable outcomes for plaintiff and defendant firms alike.

In her spare time she enjoys visiting her family who live on Norfolk Island, and playing club football every weekend.
