Mia Martin

Mia works within MLEA’s Medicolegal team full-time and welcomes the opportunity to provide objective, efficient and evidence-based assessment and reports for all clients. Mia established her Occupational Therapy career in Occupational Rehabilitation assisting individuals to achieve an efficient, safe and sustainable return to work. Within this role, Mia gained valuable experience liaising with multiple stakeholders to address key goals and objectives within the return to work process. This role also provided opportunities for developing suitable duties plans, completing worksite assessments and pre-employment functional assessments as well as facilitating medical case conferences.

Mia then further laid the foundations of her career through working at The Wesley Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Brisbane. She enjoyed working across a wide range of practice areas such as inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, acute neurological, respiratory and ICU, and palliative care as well as oncology. From Mia’s experience, she now holds valuable understanding of a wide range of medical conditions, equipment prescription, discharge planning and home modifications.

Mia finds joy in going for walks along the river and exploring Brisbane’s newest bakeries, you will also find her spending time with friends and listening to live music. Mia also loves visiting and spending time with her family on Norfolk Island, playing soccer and baking for her friends. She uses her wind down time to spend time with family and friends, listen to music and enjoy a good meal.
